Get in touch with Clara Schuhmacher at clara@dumbonyc.org or 718-237-8700 with proposed date and requested location and we’ll get back to you with next steps!

For large-scale events, it is recommended that you submit your proposal as far in advance as possible, at minimum two months prior to your preferred event date(s). Proposals for small and medium events may be considered with a lead-time of at least six weeks.

Note: All events in these public spaces must be free and open to the public. Ticketed events, weddings and all other private events will not be considered.

Photography and Filming Proposals

Groups who wish to use these plazas for commercial photography or videography must request permission from the DUMBO Improvement District in addition to applying for a permit from the Mayor’s Office of Film and Television. Fees are based on appropriateness to the plaza, disruption to the public’s use of the plaza, crew size, complexity of set-up, amount of equipment brought into plaza, and % of plaza used. You must also have liability insurance naming DUMBO District Management Association and the City of New York as additional insureds.

Looking for indoor event spaces in DUMBO?

Maybe it’s a cocktail party at Smack Mellon (a loft space that once was a boiler room for other buildings in the neighborhood), or a wedding at 26 Bridge (a former metal factory renovated and lined with the original brick walls). In any case, check out our roundup of available event spaces here.

Note, the BID does not manage these locations; you should contact them directly.
