See and Be Seen

Annual Meeting

Each year, hundreds gather to hear what's coming up in the neighborhood, meet fellow Dumbonians and celebrate local rockstars. Not. To. Be. Missed.

2019 Meeting

Once a year we gather for a deep dive into this fantastic community. This year - we celebrated the women of DUMBO!

Alexandria Sica - Executive Director - the Dumbo Improvement District

On Monday, February 11, 2019, 250+ members of the DUMBO Improvement District turned out to St. Ann's Warehouse to celebrate all things Dumbo.

They sampled treats from Foragers, danced to tunes by Cara Lee Sparry (of Superfine) and celebrated some of Dumbo's rockstar women, the recipients of this year's DUMBO Dozen and Magic Feather recipients.

ICYMI: ALEXANDRIA SICA’S STATE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD ADDRESS

DUMBO BID Executive Director Alexandria Sica welcomed everyone and began her address by noting that the Dumbo brand is so strong–it's gone international, popping up in Bangkok, Thailand, and Salta, Argentina!

She then welcomed St. Ann's Warehouse Artistic Director Susan Feldman to the stage, and highlighted just a few of the epic things that St. Ann's has hosted in the past year.

Next up, Ms. Sica introduced all of the fantastic new businesses that have opened in DUMBO since our last Annual Meeting.

The next portion of the presentation highlighted the incredible events and art installations the BID produced in 2018.

Then, Ms. Sica focused on the neighborhood improvement projects that we're so excited about— including restoring DUMBO's Belgian Blocks transforming the plaza under the Brooklyn Bridge, building out Bridge Park 2, and more.

Plus, new buildings coming to Jay Street and –just in time for Valentine's Day–Wishes On Washington, our augmented reality experience of Brooklyn's most iconic block.

It was a very good year in DUMBO.
