A screen is illuminated, the lights move on it. Those lights are images that tell a story. There is no sound, like in the paintings of the Renaissance. The sounds sing and speak only in the head of every single viewer: an orchestration just thought but loud as the most intense concert.

For "Light Year 82,“ I created the program "Moving Silence“ (named after the contemporary silent cinema platform I founded together with Matthias Fritsch in 2009). The selection consists of 4 very different films, however one element unites them: a very strong poetic charge. Regardless of the style used, the "technical simpleness“ of these works enhances the essence. The musical accompaniment this time is performed by New York City itself (where the films are projected), with its sounds, noises, voices...

Marco Brosolo is an Italian artist and musician based in Berlin since 1999. His work combines visual art and songwriting; drawings, minimalism and conceptual art. As musician he released numerous EPs and Albums and collaborated with several international artists. In 2009 Brosolo founded (together with video artist Matthias Fritsch) “Moving Silence”, an international platform for contemporary silent cinema with live music.


LIGHT YEAR is an ongoing project presented by DUMBO Improvement District, NYC DOT, along with Leo Kuelbs Collection, Glowing Bulbs and John Ensor Parker (fka 3_Search). Originally created for the Manhattan Bridge Anchorage in DUMBO, Brooklyn, in celebration of the United Nations’ declaration of 2015 as the Year of Light and Light Art, LIGHT YEAR has become an international project supporting and presenting hundreds and hundreds of artists and curators from all over the world.
