Henning Haupt: Interstices between Misery and Freedom
Haupt‘s practice is centered on an inquiry into the production of painting and space. For this installation, the artist’s cutout painting takes the shape of a three-dimensional structure. With references to the latticework of Arabian screens that engage in the interplay of revealing and concealing, and the Renaissance hedge maze - a garden installation that was meant to confuse, Haupt invites the viewer to project themselves beyond the window glass and into the spaces of color and lines to a position between the painting and our individual realm of ideas.
