Dumbo Walls: Murals for the Movement / Love by Cey Adams
In 2021, the Downtown Brooklyn + Dumbo Art Fund–a project of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the Dumbo Improvement District, as part of New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative–installed MURALS FOR THE MOVEMENT, a trio of murals with works by Cey Adams, Victor "Marka27" Quinonez and Sophia Dawson.
Murals for the Movement in an an artistic endeavor by Street Theory Gallery intended to amplify communities with uplifting large-scale murals by Black Artists and Artists of Color.
“My 'LOVE' murals are designed to encourage the viewer to think and see beyond the surface. The work inspires examination and positive conversation. The images, graphic shapes and vivid colors relate to the complexity of our diverse community.” -- Cey Adams
This mural was installed on the BQE underpass at Prospect and Adams Street in partnership with the New York City Department of Transportation's Art Program in October 2021.
