Using brick walls as canvas, international artists transformed DUMBO’s streetscape with works by CAM, DALeast, Eltono, Shepard Fairey, Faith47, MOMO, Stefan Sagmeister, and Yuko Shimizu. The series is created along the BQE, which for generations has formed an artificial barrier to the neighborhood. DUMBO’s boundaries are changing – with new development to the south of the BQE at the DUMBO Heights campus – future home to Etsy and WeWork. DUMBO Walls draws people to areas that were formally desolate and strengthens our connection to neighboring communities in Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights, as called for in our Brooklyn Tech Triangle plan.
This project is sponsored by DUMBO Improvement District and Two Trees Management Co in partnership with the New York City Department of Transportation Urban Art Program (NYCDOT) and the Jonathan LeVine Gallery..
