Talking Chocolate with Valrhona
Craving Atrium's chocolate mouse? How about a pain au chocolat from Almondine, or dessert at Superfine? All are clients of the century-old chocolate brand, Valrhona, known internationally for producing premium chocolates and pastries – and for instructing the world’s finest pastry chefs. DUMBO locales are not the only place you can dig into Valrhona chocolate. In April 2015, this world-renowned chocolatier opened a school right here in DUMBO. L’Ecole du Grand Chocolat is their very first school in the United States, and it's at 222 Water Street.
Here's the best part: you don't need to be a professional chef to take a class at their state-of-the-art facilities. If you dream in pastry and chocolate, you can take all sorts of interesting classes, from bonbons with Brooklyn darlings Liddabit Sweets, to breakfast treats with DUMBO's very own Chef Poussot of Almondine.
