///// THE LINE UP
Tara Duvivier – Makoosa Cookout
Absorbing the sounds of New York since her birth in Brooklyn, Tara spins a collage of sounds that captures the eclectic vibe of modern New York life. Tara understands being a DJ is more than just playing a mix of records; it is a matter of building trust between herself and the crowd and sharing the knowledge and love the she has for the music. Her goal is always to give people a taste of the familiar as well as something new that may be something they never realized was needed or missed in their musical memory.
DJ Misbehaviour – Mobile Mondays
London born Misbehaviour has been rocking parties across the Globe since 1990. One of the most memorable in her early career was a private party for Prince. Based in NYC Misbehaviour has blessed the decks at Output, Brooklyn Bowl, Santos Party House and The Roxy. In the summer she is one of the resident DJs in Central Park, for the world renowned roller-skating disco and also a resident at Mobile Mondays (NYC’s premier vinyl 45 party), spinning alongside such New York Icons as Biz Markie, Danny Krivit, Just Blaze and Studio One Veteran Downbeat The Ruler. Misbehaviour performs regularly around NYC with appearances at Afro Punk Festival, New York Summer Stage and the Natural History Museum with legend Arthur Baker. A passionate collector of Vinyl, Misbehaviour remembers buying her first record at the age of 9 and has been hooked ever since. Her eclectic ear for music allows her to satisfy many different audiences as she brings her unique sound to the dance floor. Just as at home in the event circuit her clients include Fiorentini & Baker, BBC America, Adidas and Diesel
Brooklyn based and LA raised, Bianca is a DJ with a good story to tell. Her stories are told from a classic and current perspective, as deep cuts, feel good faves, and guilty pleasures are beautifully narrated within a well curated dj set. Notes of love, lust, heartbreak, and the pursuit of happiness are framed within her favorite works in r&b, hip hop, funk, disco, house, and rock.
Through her unique perspective and take on music, Bianca has steadily made a name for herself as a DJ in NY over the past six years. She’s held down two monthly residencies and has played some of NY’s most notable venues, such as Brooklyn Bowl, Kinfolk, The Bell House, Union Hall, Baby’s All Right, Ace Hotel, and Louie & Chan.
Truth be told, Bianca has two people to thank for giving her life as a DJ – her brother, Stefan, and her best friend, Brendan. DJs themselves, they have helped shape the way she tells her stories by way of example and supreme skills. As a crew, they’ve dj’d together since 2011 and have created the long running monthly parties, YA DIG and Crazy Since Da 90s.
If you wanna know what’s up and what’s good, come to one of Bianca’s nights. Her sets don’t lie – the truth is in the music. Hear it, feel it, and dance it out – there’s stories to be told.
