The Spirited Pen: Writers Talk about Whiskey
Kings County Distillery is proud to present “The Spirited Pen: Writers Talk About Whiskey”
On October 23, join Clay Risen, New York Times editor and author of “American Whiskey, Bourbon, and Rye: A Guide to the Nation’s Favorite Spirit” as guest host of our public tour on September 18th at 5pm. Mr. Risen will open our tour with fascinating tales from “How America Learned to Love Whiskey”, his celebrated piece for The Atlantic magazine.
On October 30, Kings County Distillery gives the floor to William Hogeland, acclaimed author of “The Whiskey Rebellion: George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and the Frontier Rebels Who Challenged America’s New Found Sovereignty”, as guest speaker for our tour at 5pm. This gripping and sensational tale of alcohol, taxes, and a radical eighteenth century people’s movement long ignored by historians will be told by this Brooklyn based writer.
Visitors on both tours will be guided through our distillery floor and barrel aging room for a behind the scenes look at this award winning craft whiskey facility.
Tours last one hour and include a tasting of four whiskeys.
