Photoville

The 6th annual Photoville returns to DUMBO! Join them for a free pop-up photography village with exhibitions in and around 55+ shipping containers in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Photoville 2017 will exhibit work by over 500 visual artist and feature more than 70 exhibitions – both inside and outside of shipping containers, spanning the spectrum of photographic practice.

Each evening will feature a nighttime screening in the popular Photoville beer garden, where you can view amazing photography against the Manhattan skyline. 

Photoville also comes alive with the myriad of events taking place in our photo village. From talks to drop-in activities and workshops, participate in programming that’s all about making connections and learning new skills. Photoville 2017 will feature 30+ programs, workshops, etc. that run the photography gamut in topic and engagement, and are free and open to the public.

For thought-provoking discussions, head to The Photoville Talks at St. Ann’s Warehouse Studio where the photography world’s brightest minds come together to discuss issues in contemporary photography. 

For a special perspective into Photoville, join us for a Walking Tour with leading photography professionals. Rock star duo Julie Grahame, founder of  aCurator.com, and photographer Janette Beckman kicks us off with a special opening day tour.

To develop new photography skills, register for a hands-on workshop taught by some of the industry’s best image makers.

To get your hands dirty and have some fun, drop in to the Activity Tent to make your own cyanotype with The Penumbra Foundation or try photobook building with MUG Publishing. 

For working photographers seeking practical ideas for your business, Luminance – presented in partnership with PhotoShelter – returns for a fifth year with panel discussions on how to foster business relationships, get the most out of marketing, and handle the trickiest topics in taxes and finance.
