Mardi Gras Party at Superfine
Saturday, February 10, the Hot Papa Jazz Band featuring vocalist Samoa Wilson will celebrate Mardi Gras at Superfine with three sets of New Orleans jazz and blues starting at 7:30. If you can’t make it to New Orleans on Mardi Gras, then come to the next best thing… Superfine… celebrating its 20th year in Dumbo!
There will be beads and balloons galore and a New Orleans second line wending its way through the Superfine crowd. So join in the fun… the music will be hot, the new farm-to-table menu is getting rave reviews, and the hip vibe is what makes Superfine a quintessential Dumbo spot.
In addition to their terrific vocalist, Samoa, the Hot Papa Jazz Band features great New York musicians who play New Orleans traditional jazz music: Scott Ricketts on trumpet, Dennis Lichtman (who runs the long-tenured hot jazz jam at Mona’s in the East Village on Tuesday nights), Brian Nalepka on tuba and bass, Angus Loten on banjo, Jerrold Kavanagh on drums, Kevin Vertrees on keys, and Jim Wildman on trombone.
