World-Renowned Chefs to Help Almondine with Pop-up Pastry Shop

A DUMBO staple since 2004, Almondine Bakery was devastated by flooding from hurricane Sandy–flooding that filled the basement shuttered the bakery which remains closed due to the loss of most of their production space and equipment. While owner/ chef Hervé Poussot is actively working to get back on his feet, there is still a lot of work to be done. Friends of Almondine–a collection of loyal patrons of the bakery–has started GoFundMe site that has already raised over $18k.
So now, Hervé is calling in some of his other friends to lend a hand. You may have heard of these friends: Daniel Boulud, Eric Ripert & Maguy Le Coze (of Le Bernardin), and Francois Payard, Valrhona, Bouchon Bakery, Dominique Ansel, Ceci-Cela and many more. They’ll be helping Hervé by contributing the finest cakes, pastries and chocolates to a pop-up pastry shop in the Almondine storefront at 85 Water Street on December 15th & 16th from 10am – 6pm. All procedes from the weekend will go directly to Almondine’s rebuilding efforts.
Chef Hervé has been amazed by the outpouring of support, “My thanks to everyone for all the support to help rebuild Almondine. I am so touched by all the help from the chefs, the neighborhood, and everyone. This weekend’s pop-up will be an exciting party, and I hope to see everybody there!”
