Vote Now: Pensa & Horse Cycles Present Merge
Pensa and Horse Cycles reveal their new bicycle design: Merge!
Last October, Oregon Manifest chose DUMBO industrial design firm Pensa to represent New York City and participate in The Bike Design Project, a nationwide competition among five firms in five cities to create the optimum urban utility bike. Pensa, in partnership with Brooklyn-based custom bike builder Horse Cycles, has created the ultimate urban cycling vehicle.
In case you missed the reveal party last week, here’s the down low on Merge:
Merge was inspired by the variety of cycling needs of the urban cyclist on New York’s famously crowded streets. Hence, Merge is a compact and nimble ride, offering its rider confidence when navigating tight spaces. At the same time there is necessary utility. Merge’s rear rack snaps open at a moment’s notice, but can also retract when not in use. Merge’s well-integrated features include cargo, lighting, security, phone case, and a USB charging port. They are right where you need them, yet unobtrusive when not in use. Merge offers an elegant and integrated solution to the needs of a variety of urban cyclists. The theme for Pensa’s project is Ride Your Way and Merge enables cyclists in New York City and beyond to do just that.
Now it’s your chance to vote for the “Ultumate Urban Utility Bike.” Voting for the Bike Design Project runs from now thru August 3rd. Check out The Oregon Manifest site to see the entries and to vote for your favorite. The winning bike will go into production with Fuji Bikes.
