Violin Lessons for all
Want to learn how to play the violin? Maybe you’d love to start playing again? Adela Peña offers private lessons for all ages and levels.
As the founding violinist of the Eroica Trio, Ms. Peña is known as a Grammy-nominated, internationally acclaimed performer. She is featured on six albums on the Angel/EMI label, and has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Chicago, San Francisco, and Seattle Symphonies, as well as the Hong Kong, Seoul, and Budapest Philharmonic orchestras. Currently on the violin and chamber music staff of the University of Pennsylvania and Mannes Prep, she now offers lessons in both Brooklyn Heights and Chelsea, Manhattan.
Ms. Peña has a very flexible teaching style, and lessons are adapted according to the students’ own goals. This may be anything from playing for enjoyment, to thinking about music as a career. She specializes in ensemble playing and frequently arranges performance opportunities for her students: “I emphasize performing as part of the process, because not only is it an inspiration for the students to hear one another, but also because it builds courage and gives the performers self-confidence that they can apply to all areas of their lives.”
