TunnelVision Dance Party Under Manhattan Bridge 9/20

After a successful launch in August, the TunnelVision: DUMBO Dance Party is back with DJ Geko Jones and Broadway star Sahr Ngaujah on Saturday, September 20 from 3-8pm under the Manhattan Bridge.

Free and open to all, this music-centric event is a collaboration between the DUMBO Improvement District, BBOX Radio and Brooklyn DJs William Ellis, Asen James and Spencer Blake. The mix includes everything from world beat to soul to house to hip hop, with family-friendly activities (bubbles! hula hoops! chalk!) rounding out the fun.

“Our mission is to inspire creativity and build community using quality music, dance and art in a monumental public space,” says the TunnelVision team. “We’re putting a 21st century spin on the traditional Brooklyn block party.”

“Think of it as a mash-up between Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday and PS1 Warm Up, with a DUMBO twist,” said Alexandria Sica, executive director of the DUMBO Improvement District. “Dancing on historic cobblestone under the Manhattan Bridge is a pretty epic experience.”

Event details:

  • Date: Saturday, September 20
  • Time: 3 – 8pm
  • Location: Archway under the Manhattan Bridge (closest address 155 Water Street)
