Take a Dip in BBP’s Pop-Up Pool
Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pop-Up Pool on Pier 2 returns this summer to help New Yorkers beat the heat. Now in its third season, the pool is the perfect way to cool off and enjoy a refreshing swim while admiring the gorgeous Manhattan skyline.
Beginning Friday June 27, swimmers are welcome daily 10am to 6pm. Each day is divided into 45 minute sessions that begin every hour, on the hour, with a maximum capacity of 60 people per session. The pool boasts dimensions of 30′ by 50′, offering plenty of space for Brooklynites to relax for a midweek getaway. With a maximum depth of 3.5′, the pool is perfect for families with small children too. Only rule: children under 4 feet 2 inches must be accompanied by an adult. Interested in swimming lessons? Starting in July, the pool will offer moderately priced classes from 8am to 10am every morning.
After your swim, check out the nearby sandy beach complete with lounge chairs, picnic tables, and umbrellas where you can kick back, relax, and take in incredible views of the lower-Manhattan-skyline until 11 pm. If you’re feeling hungry, Lizzmonade Brooklyn has you covered with delicious fresh lemonade and light snacks. For those who want to continue the party after dark, Lizzmonade offers a beach-side happy hour with fresh sangrias, local craft beers, and wine on tap. Don’t forget to challenge your friends to a game of bocce ball or participate in group trivia nights!
