Solar-Charged Viewfinder Shows DUMBO’s Evolution
Thanks to a BID Challenge grant from the NYC Department of Small Business Services, the DUMBO BID has put together a program to promote DUMBO businesses to visitors who enter via Old Fulton Street. This program is part of a grant that encourages BIDs throughout the City to come up with new ideas to promote small business in their neighborhoods (see the first project done in DUMBO via the BID Challenge here).
The DUMBO BID worked with local industrial design firm Pensa (those of Pearl Street Triangle & NYC Parks Street Charge fame) and partners at Tower Optical to retrofit a viewfinder with a tablet that will be charged via solar energy and will show a short video created by local filmmaker Greg Raposa about DUMBO’s past and present.
