Sen Squadron Hosts Community Convention April 27

State Senator Daniel Squadron’s sixth annual 26th Senate District Community Convention is on Sunday, April 27 at Seward Park Educational Campus (350 Grand Street on the Lower East Side). Every year, the senator holds the community convention as an opportunity for constituents to shape the State Senator’s priorities in Albany and in the district.

This year’s topics include:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Zoning, Neighborhood Preservation, and Quality of Life
  • Civil Rights, Economic/Social Justice
  • Parks, Open Spaces, and Environment
  • Streets and Transportation
  • Open Government, Campaign Finance, and Ethics Reform
  • Section 8 and Public Housing
  • Affordable housing and Tenants’ Rights
  • Small Businesses, Economic Development, and Innovation
  • Education, Pre-K to College
  • Emergency Preparedness, and Disaster Relief
  • Hospitals and Healthcare
  • Senior Citizens/ Accessibility Concerns

There will be breakout sessions in which attendees can discuss any of the issues above (Spanish and Chinese discussion groups will also be provided).
