If you’re a photographer and are looking to have your work publicly displayed in New York City or another city in North America, look no further. United Photo Industries, based in DUMBO, has put out an open call for submissions for THE FENCE 2018, the largest outdoor photography exhibition series in North America, reaching more than 5 million people! The exhibition will be displayed in seven cities, including Brooklyn, Boston, Atlanta, Santa Fe, Durham, Denver, and Calgary. Potential prizes include a solo exhibition at Photoville 2018, a $5k Project Grant, and a Leica camera package and master class, in addition to having your work shown across the continent! The submission categories for 2018 are: People, Streets, Play, Nature, Food, Home, and Creatures.

The Early Bird deadline is March 13, 2018, and the regular deadline is April 10, 2018.

UPI is also currently accepting submissions for the Capture Your Freedom Photo Contest. Presented by Four Freedoms Park Conservancy in partnership with United Photo Industries, this contest encourages photographers to explore the meaning and legacy of the “Four Freedoms”— freedom of speech & expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear— in celebration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s pivotal 1941 address. The winning photographs will be displayed in an outdoor photo exhibition at Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, located on Roosevelt Island.

The contest is free to enter, and the deadline is March 28, 2018.
