New Retail for One Main

If you’ve checked out One Girl Cookies (and if you haven’t, you should) at 33 Main Street, you may have noticed more changes to come at the intersection of Water and Main.  Joining DUMBO’s newest bakery are two more independently owned businesses – a restaurant and a surf shop.

The restaurant, slated to open at the end of May at 15 Main Street, is just one of the latest projects from the team behind Brooklyn Height’s Colonie (they’re doubling down on DUMBO with another project at 5 Front Street).  Chef Brad McDonald promises a small, modern “kitchen focused” restaurant with an ever-changing daily menu.

Aegir Boardworks, a surf and snowboard shop, is also on track for a May opening located at 99 Water Street in what formerly was an empty loading dock.  Owner Peter Frolich says, “there isn’t a more perfect place for a company like ours to flourish than in DUMBO.”

Alexandria Sica, Executive Director of the DUMBO Improvement District, added, “DUMBO is both hungry and adventurous – and the whole community will love stopping into these locally owned businesses.”  With the addition of these three new businesses, Two Trees continues to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of Brooklyn’s innovative business community.

We welcome these new businesses to DUMBO and look forward to working with them!
