MTA to Hold Public Hearing on B-67 Bus Extension to DUMBO
The MTA is holding a public hearing on April 29 on new plans for bus service to connect the Brooklyn Navy Yard and Vinegar Hill, as well as points in Downtown Brooklyn, to the F Train at York Street. The new route would provide weekday-only bus service, connecting through the “Brooklyn Tech Triangle”. For DUMBO commuters, it will also provide a direct connection past the Navy Yard to South Williamsburg with connections up through Greenpoint.
DUMBO route details: Coming to DUMBO from the North (aka Vinegar Hill and Navy Yard area) – the bus would head down York, stopping at the F Train and exit the neighborhood with a left onto Pearl Street. Coming to DUMBO from Downtown Brooklyn, the bus will enter along Jay Street, stopping at the F Train and then make a right onto Front Street heading into Vinegar Hill.
From the MTA: “We are continuing the process of receiving public comments regarding these proposals, and have scheduled a public hearing to be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. Registration will begin at 5:00 p.m. and be open until 8:00 p.m. and the hearing will continue until all registered speakers have spoken. The public hearing will be held in Brooklyn Borough Hall, located at 209 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY. After this public hearing, we will be finalizing the new bus routes based on all of the public feedback we have received. Once plans for the routes have been finalized, MTA NYC Transit will present proposals to the MTA Board for approval, with implementation scheduled for later this year.”
