Let’s Get Ready to Vote!

With the election season coming quickly upon us, here are a few things you may want to know in order to get prepared to vote!

How do I register to vote? 

In New York state there are three ways you can register to vote.

Please note the deadline to register to vote in New York City is October 14.

Online

To register to vote online, visit the MyDMV website. Once you are on the website you will have to either sign in or create an account. Once signed in, click on “Electronic Voter Registration.” Make sure all of your personal information is correct and if it is not you can change it on the MyDMV website.

By Mail

You can register to vote through the mail by downloading and printing out a Voter Registration Form here. The form must be postmarked by October 14. You can also get this form from libraries, post offices, and most New York City government offices.

Mail your completed form to:

In Person 

You can also register to vote by going down to your local Board of Elections office and registering in person. In Brooklyn, the local office is located at 345 Adams St., Fourth Floor. Please note that you will need to bring a physical copy of the voter registration form with you to the office. For locations of the other four offices in the other boroughs click here.
