Weekend Radar: Kid-Friendly Events at Powerhouse Arena

Bring the little ones to Powerhouse Arena this weekend for back-to-back launches of highly anticipated new picture books from  some of Brooklyn’s finest, bestselling kids book authors (including a DUMBO resident!).

  • Secret Pizza Party by Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri — The New York Times bestselling team behind Dragons Love Tacos is back with a zany story about Raccoon and the lengths he will go to acquire some pizza. Suitable for ages 3-8. Saturday, September 14 from 4-5pm.
  • Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown — The latest work from DUMBO resident and Caldecott Honor author and illustrator’s features a very proper tiger who just wants to get a little wild. Brown’s last four books have been New York Times bestsellers, and he’s received a Children’s Choice Award for Illustrator of the Year. If you ever wanted to dress up as your favorite wild animal, this is the place and party to do so – costumes are highly encouraged! A raffle for Peter Brown’s book based artwork is also included in the festivities. Suitable for ages 3-8. Sunday, September 15 from 3-4pm.
