Join IFP’s 2013 Membership Drive

Made In NY Media Center by IFP has just launched and so has IFP’s 2013 Member Drive. And with membership comes great benefits.

A little background: IFP has become one of the oldest and largest not-for-profit advocacy organization for independent filmmakers in the U.S. after debuting with a program in the 1979 New York Film Festival. Since then, IFP has supported the production of 7,000 films and provided resources to more than 20,000 filmmakers’ voices that “otherwise might not have been heard.” The organization believes that independent films broaden the palette of cinema, seeding the global culture with new ideas, kindling awareness, and fostering activism.

IFP’s mission is simple: Everyone should have access to independent films. “Democracy has long proposed-and globalization and multiculturalism now demand-that good citizens be informed from a variety of perspectives. One of the most powerful ways to share and receive such input is through the universal language of film.” IFP currently represents a network of 10,000 filmmakers locally and globally. They build audiences by hosting screenings that are often in collaboration with other cultural institutions, by holding workshops, seminars, conferences and mentorships, and by annually presenting the Gotham Award, the first honors of the film awards season. Benefits of membership include:
