Art + Culture

First Thursday is August 6

DUMBO’s First Thursday Gallery Walk is August 6, and we’re celebrating the peak of summer with light under the bridge, light on the bridge, and new galleries in the ‘hood.

Here’s your guide to the openings, performances, and cultural activities happening across the neighborhood:

This month, HUGE is taking over the Archway with summery beats + an interactive light installation that will challenge you to experience the Archway from new angles. Outside the Archway, on the Pearl St side of the Manhattan Bride, Light Year presents “Transflextion: Net of Mirrors” a collection of six videos curated by DUMBO’s own Leo Kuelbs with Eike Berg that explores the interconnected nature of existence.

As always, galleries around the neighborhood stay open ’til 9 — perfect opportunity to scope out new art and then grab a bite or a drink at one of our great local restaurants or pop into one of DUMBO’s small shops. This month, we can’t wait to welcome the newest addition to the DUMBO gallery scene — Usagi_NY!
