First Thursday Gallery Walk April 2

DUMBO’s First Thursday Gallery Walk is April 2. Galleries around the neighborhood stay open ’til 9 — perfect opportunity to scope out new art and then grab a bite or a drink at one of our great local restaurants or pop into one of DUMBO’s small shops. Here’s your guide to the openings, performances, and cultural activities happening across the neighborhood:

This month, our top pick is Stefan Rak and Albert Shelton performing at Kunsthalle Projects as part of “A Month of Goodbyes”. 111 Front Street Galleries will be closing at the end of April (some will be moving to the former Galapagos location and others elsewhere in the neighborhood) And so, all month long Kunsthalle Projects will have series of rotating exhibitions, new performances, music and readings. This series will celebrate endings and beginnings and will feature Kunsthalle artists old and new.

On April 2, Stefan Rak and Albert Shelton will collaborate on a reading a performance. “Rak reads from his upcoming novel, ‘best described as absurdist narcotic cyberpunk noir’ The Adventures of Bastard and M.E., while artist Shelton provides impromptu music and noise. The two will dj throughout the night.
