First Archway Projection of 2013!

The Archway gets a Scandinavian twist with the first outdoor projections of the season. As part of the neighborhood-wide First Thursday Gallery Walk on April 4, work from four contemporary Nordic artists — Mogens Jacobsen, Styrmir Örn Guðmundsson, Kaia Hugini, and Hanne Ivars — will be shown simultaneously on the Archway’s vaulted walls. The selected works will reflect on the relationship between movement and memories, engaging the site through themes of movement and passing.

This outdoor exhibition comes to DUMBO by way of Nordic Outbreak, a traveling moving image exhibition and pubic program series presented by Streaming Museum (the group responsible for bringing midnight showings of Björk’s “Mutual Core” video to Times Square).

Don’t miss this one-night only event! The projection will be shown in the Archway from 6-9PM. And after you check out the projections, following the glowing red lights into the Pearl Street Triangle for some Heartwalk love.

Nordic Outbreak is made possible with support from NYC DOT’s Urban Art program.
