This month, we welcome a new gallery, Folioleaf at Galleries at 111 Front Street. Folioleaf’s inaugural exhibition, Make Shift, celebrates the contemporary techniques, style, and methods of screen printing as an art form through a selection of editions published in Brooklyn since 2009. The exhibition presents a broad range of artists who have integrated their unique variety of skills, training, and interests into the medium’s defining characteristics. You can see Amze Emmonds’ work (above) and more at Folioleaf during February First Thursday.

All First Thursday events are open to the public and free. Galleries and shops stay open late, making DUMBO a great after-work destination for art-seekers. Local bars and restaurants also get in on the action: check out neighborhood happy hour specials here.
