DUMBO Shocker! 10 Jay Coming Back as Offices
In a reverse of plans, 10 Jay Street, once home to dozens of creative companies, will be renovated and relaunched as a commercial office building – instead of the 46 unit condo that had been planned. The building will be fairly fancy – as the Real Deal reported this week that it will retain its Landmarks approved, ODA New York designed facade, as seen in the rendering above. 200,000 square feet of office space will once again enliven the end of Jay Street – and those offices will have a lovely view of the newest section of Brooklyn Bridge Park (oh, and Manhattan too).
And, in other real estate news: According to CBRE, DUMBO has helped Brooklyn become the 6th hottest city for commercial space in the country – just behind Atlanta and San Francisco. Read more on the Real Deal here.
