DUMBO Is Merry and Bright: Nov 29th Edition

Here are a handful of holiday happenings around the neighborhood:

  • This wknd! Kid Flix: New York International Children’s Film Festival, right here in DUMBO! Kid Flix includes the best short films from New York International Children’s Film Festival, the largest film festival for kids and teens. Each year, NYICFF scours the globe for the best new films from around the world. This Sunday Dec 3 at the Made in New York Media Center by IFP. Screenings at 11am and 12:30pm. Tickets.
  • Next week! The Nutcracker Sweets: Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet is bringing selections from this perennial holiday favorite to DUMBO! Performances Dec 7-10th. Get your tickets here.
  • Dec 8! Michael Jackson Dance Party at Creatively Wild. Twice a month, Creatively Wild will host a pop star dance extravaganza! First up, is Michael Jackson! Come learn Hip Hop and Jazz technique while grooving to some of the King of Pop’s biggest hits. Plus, Pizza! Register here.
  • Sundays!  Hudson Horns at Sugarcane. Enjoy live music by New York’s beloved brass band Hudson Horns every Sunday Brunch from 1-4:30pm.
  • Ongoing! Big Brooklyn Holiday Toy Drive: Drop off an unwrapped toy for children ages 0 – 14 at donation boxes at Front Street PizzaBrooklyn Roasting Company and Half Pint Citizens — or bring yours to our DUMBO Holiday Tree Lighting next week. Last day to donate is December 15!
  • Ongoing!  Trunk Gift Cartel. Organized by Magdalena Concepts and hosted by Trunk Boutique. the Gift Cartel is curated to highlight the work of women-owned and sustainable-minded businesses local to Brooklyn. Details.
