DUMBO Is Hiring Winter 2018 Interns

Want to have your finger on the pulse of one of Brooklyn’s most exciting neighborhoods? Join our team for Winter 2018! The DUMBO Improvement District is looking to hire interns to assist with the development, planning, production, promotion and documentation of a wide range of community events, including gallery walks, food festivals, public art installations, city planning initiatives. If you’re an urbanist with an entrepreneurial spirit and a creative spark, this is the perfect hands-on learning opportunity!

Requirements

Overall tech savvy-ness, including social media experience and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; Experience with website content development and management; General knowledge of DUMBO / Brooklyn neighborhood development (or a desire to learn); Strong oral and written communication skills; Office experience working at a small nonprofit or startup.

The roles are:

  • Events + Marketing Intern: Talk about all the cool things happening in the neighborhood! Create new social media campaigns! Profile people! Get the full details here.
  • Community Development Intern: Assist with urban planning and advocacy activities, including outreach with local businesses, stakeholders and city agencies; mapping community assets; and community surveys. Get the full details here.

Schedule

Minimum 24 hours per week; office hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm.

Season Dates

Start on / about January 3. End on / about May 25. We can be flexible!
