Contest: Design Dewey’s Candy Window for Easter
Here’s a shot to use a DUMBO storefront as your canvas: Dewey’s Candy, the self-proclaimed “sweetest spot in DUMBO,” has just launched a contest inviting the neighborhood’s creative talent to design the store window for Easter. The winner will receive a pound of free candy, not to mention sweet bragging rights.
Dewey’s owner Alison Oblonsky is giving participants artistic carte blanche with content, though we imagine you can pull inspiration from the shop’s mix of colorful confections like jelly beans and old-school licorice. Window treatments can be anything from vinyl to paint to colored Easter eggs — Dewey’s will pick up the tab for supplies. (FYI, the window measures 88 in x 66 in with two small panels measuring 88 in x 7 in and 88 in x 23 in.)
Contest deadline is Friday, March 8. Designs can be submitted in person to Dewey’s Candy (141 Front Street) or via firstname.lastname@example.org.
