Artist Talk: Chitra Ganesh at Bose Pacia 7/11

Brooklyn-born artist Chitra Ganesh will present her work at a Bose Pacia gallery Open Studio event Thursday, July 11. Come see the mixed-media murals and have a chance to interact with Ganesh after an informal talk at 7pm.

Through experimentation with materials like fur, glitter, found objects, vinyl, and silk flowers, Ganesh creates vibrant, larger than life wall murals with themes including mythology, folklore, sci-fi, Bollywood, comic books and graffiti. Her work has been exhibited at PS-1 MOMA, Brooklyn Museum and The Andy Warhol Museum among many others. Regarding her work, Ganesh states, “I am interested in specific moments within iconic narratives, both visual and textual, that reveal the seams of a story, and when further investigated, might have the potential to threaten its coherence.”

The event takes place at Bose Pacia Thursday, July 11 from 6-9pm; exhibit runs through July 16.
