Challenge: Can Your Office Bike to Work for a Week?

National Bike Month is in May, so it’s time to dust off that bicycle and get going. Imagine the start of your work day involves a refreshing breeze as you ride down the scenic streets of NYC.

The non-profit that advocates for alternatives to car commuting in NYC, Transportation Alternatives, hopes to promote awareness of the simple pleasure of cycling to work with the Bike-to-Work Challenge. The week-long challenge is a friendly competition among similarly-sized workplaces to see who can get the most employees to commute via bicycle from Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16. The Challenge takes place during the week leading up to Bike to Work Day, the largest celebration of commuter bicycling in the country.

Anyone who works in the five boroughs is welcome to join the Challenge. The Bike to Work Challenge is free and easy to join. Plus, lifted spirits and healthy doses of fresh air and vitamin D are guaranteed for all.

At the end of the week, T.A. will honor the winning businesses and individuals at the Bike Home from Work Party, an under-the-stars celebration in DUMBO. The winners of the challenge will be announced then.

What office wouldn’t want energized staff and bragging rights about good health? Visit the T.A. Bike to Work Challenge website to sign your workplace up and learn more information about the challenge.
