Celebrate Brooklyn! Announces Waterfront Dance Party Line-Up

DUMBO-based arts nonprofit BRIC has just released the line-up for the Celebrate Brooklyn! Dance Party series. This popular free event, held three consecutive Thursday evenings in May on Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1, features killer waterfront views, free valet bike parking, food trucks and, according to BRIC director Jack Walsh, “a diverse line-up of musicians and DJs who fuse sounds, instruments and beats in a way that is so infectious you can’t help but dance.”

Here’s what you can look forward to after work next month:

May 9: New Orleans Dance Partywith Big Sam’s Funky Nation and the Freedom Party NYC DJs Cosi, Herbert Holler, and Marc Smooth

May 16: Afro-Cuban Dance Party! with Pedrito Martinez Group, DJ Nickodemus and an Afro-Cuban dance lesson by Yesenia Selier

May 23: Old School Funk & Hip-Hop Dance Party! with the Zapp Band, DJ D-Nice and a hip-hop dance lesson by Ephrat “Bounce” Asherie”
