Call for Submissions: THE FENCE 2014
Calling photographers of all levels worldwide! What makes up a community? Is it the people we meet, the places we go, the things we do, or the creatures we encounter along the way?
United Photo Industries, recent DUMBO Magic Feather Awardee, is back again this year with Brooklyn Bridge Park, Photo District News (PDN), the Flash Forward Festival, and new partner, Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP) to bring us THE FENCE 2014!
Each year, THE FENCE, a summer-long, outdoor photographic exhibition, invites photographers from around the world to explore and define the meaning of community across cultural boundaries and geographical lines. In addition to the FENCES in Brooklyn Bridge Park, NY and Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, MA, a third brand new FENCE is also set to display this year along the Atlanta BeltLine in Atlanta, GA.
Photographers of any level, budding or experienced, are invited to submit their best image series that capture the essence of “community”, which fits into one or more of the competition categories: home, streets, play, creatures, or people. Photographers submitting for THE FENCE will be automatically considered for all three FENCES. Check out the different contest prizes here.
With work being reviewed by a jury of more than 30 highly-respected photography professionals worldwide and an expected number of over 1.5 million visitors each summer, this is an opportunity that can’t be missed. So, don’t wait to submit your work… let them know what you think a community is made of!
