Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse Opens June 6!

Want to go kayaking with amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge & more—for free?

Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse opens on June 6! Every Thursday (from 5:30PM to 6:45PM) and Saturday (from 10:00AM to 3:00PM) from now through Labor Day, the Boathouse has free, walk-up kayaking in Brooklyn Bridge Park between Piers 1 and 2. They’ll get you in a life vest, explain the basics of kayaking, and keep watch over you in the protected embayment while you paddle (No, you cannot go across the East River to Manhattan!) There’s a 20 minute limit to your time on the water—but it’ll be the best 20 minutes of your day!

Plus, on Sundays there’s kayak polo at 11AM for kids and 12:30PM for adults.

Want to learn more about free kayaking? Check out their Programs page to learn more about this and other kayaking opportunities. Not sure what to wear, or where you’re allowed to kayak? Check out their FAQs page to get the answers to these and any other questions you might have! Not sure where the Boathouse is? Here’s how you can find them.

Remember to show up early! Everything is first come, first served, and spots are limited.
