Blizzard Warning this Weekend

Yes, after record warm weather, it looks like we have some potentially serious snow coming our way this weekend. A blizzard warning is in effect for New York City, and NYC Emergency Management has issued a hazardous travel advisory for Saturday, January 23, 2016 through Sunday, January 24, 2016. Also note, CitiBike will close temporarily beginning at 11pm on Friday, 1/22. Use caution when driving and allow for additional travel time, as roads will be dangerous due to the weather conditions.

The DUMBO Clean Team will be in the neighborhood to prep and deal with snow removal, and will prioritize service with a focus on shoveling and de-icing crosswalks and corners. Private commercial and residential property managers should be prepared to address conditions in front of their properties, including keeping the sidewalk clear of snow and ice with regular shoveling and de-icing.

Keep an eye on the DUMBO BID’s and NYC Office of Emergency Management’s twitter account for updates. You can keep track of where the Dept of Sanitation is plowing here.
