BKLYN Designs Returns to DUMBO May 9-11
Calling all DUMBO designers and design aficionados: BKLYN DESIGNS is back and promises to be better than ever this year! BKLYN DESIGNS 2014, presented by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, will showcase contemporary furnishings and home accessories that are designed or manufactured right here in Kings County at St. Ann’s Warehouse on May 9-11.
“I am happy to announce that BKLYN DESIGNS will be back this year bigger and better than ever,” said Carlo A. Scissura, President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. “This three-day exhibition shows off the best of Brooklyn when it comes to cutting edge interior makers and designers. Just as in years past, the design world will get an opportunity to see the creative energy housed in Brooklyn. Thank you to the Auster Agency for helping produce this wonderful event and to the designers who are applying for the chance to be a part of it.”
“Everyone knows Brooklyn is the center of New York City’s creative community. BKLYN DESIGNS will again highlight that fact for scores of visitors to see,” said Brooklyn Chamber Board Chair Denise Arbesu. “Events such as BKLYN DESIGNS fuel our economy, help to highlight businesses and are an engine for job creation. For those reasons, it is important for Brooklyn to come out and support this show and these talented designers.”
“BKLYN DESIGNS is an important spring ritual for the Brooklyn furnishings design community,” said Susan Doban, CEO and co-founder of Think Fabricate, a design firm and BKLYN DESIGNS exhibitor. “Not only does it give designers and fabricators a chance to present their work to the public as a group, it also gives consumers access to high quality designs that are typically not available in stores. Therefore, it is an important ‘coming together for all those who value furnishing designs from Brooklyn. The visitors at last year’s show were so enthusiastic and excited about design! It was a pleasure for us to participate and we look forward to this year’s show!”
