Bike Home From Work Party May 16

Happy Bike Month, y’all! If the overflowing racks across the neighborhood are any indication, DUMBO loves its two-wheeled transportation. Between the city’s growing network of bike lanes and the proliferation of Citi Bikes racks, there’s much to celebrate!

And celebrate we will indeed on the evening of May 16, when the DUMBO Improvement District hosts Transportation Alternatives Bike Home From Work Party in the Archway!

Here’s the deal: Start off your day by rocking your best helmet-proof ‘do and joining thousands of New Yorkers pedaling to the office for national Bike to Work Day. Need some extra motivation? Make a pitstop at a Transportation Alternative’s fueling station — including the Brooklyn Bridge and right outside 25 Jay Street  — where you can grab a quick bite and a cup of joe from DUMBO’s own Brooklyn Roasting Company

After work, bikers from DUMBO and across the city are invited to attend the Bike Home from Work Party, running from 6:30-9:30pm in the Archway and Pearl Street Triangle. It’s free and there’ll be lots of cool stuff, like:

  • #BikeNYC Loft with local frame builders, bicycle print video show and video installation
  • Food and drinks, including Brooklyn Flea vendors, Brooklyn Brewery suds and samples galore.
  • Pop-up shops with gear and demos.
  • DJ and photobooth, of course!

See you under the Archway, helmet hair be damned!
