84th Precinct Safety Updates
The 84th Precinct covers DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn Heights and parts of Downtown Brooklyn. The Community Affairs team of Detective Sal Ferrante and Officer Freddie Mitchell go above and beyond to keep us at the DUMBO BID in the loop on everything happening in and around our neighborhood. Here’s the latest news from their Community Newsletter.
Serious crime is down in the 84th Precinct and throughout New York City through the first two months of 2014, compared to 2013–which was a historically low year for crime. For more detail, here’s the 2014 84th Precinct Compstat report as of 3/2/14 and the overall 2014 NYPD Compstat report as of 3/2/14.
On March 2nd, it was reported that there was an attack on a woman in Vinegar Hill where a group of men punched a woman in front of 290 Water Street, but didn’t take anything from her.
