HUGE Gift: The JR Project Hits DUMBO

This month HUGE Inc brings the artist JR’s Inside Out project to DUMBO by wheat pasting two sides of the Chamber Paper building – at John St and Adams Street, adjacent to the Manhattan Bridge section of Brooklyn Bridge Park. According to HUGE, the Inside Out Project “aims to become the largest participatory art project ever and, in the process, discover, reveal and share the untold stories and images of people everywhere.” And DUMBO will contribute: More than 90 community members had their portraits uploaded and joined together to cover the Chamber Paper building. The installation will be up for approximately two months as a celebration of the neighborhood’s creative community.

HUGE completed strategy, design and build pro-bono for the online home of Inside Out. The project is bringing communities together around the world – as more than 10,000 people have uploaded photos to the site HUGE developed. Check out this recent account of Inside Out in South Africa.
