The DUMBO Improvement District advocates on behalf of the community for better services and public spaces, transportation enhancements and preservation of the neighborhood’s industrial character and historic charm. Phase One of a capital project to improve the streets and infrastructure while restoring the historic Belgian block was completed in 2011. Starting in 2016, DUMBO will undergo Phase Two, a $29M capital project to upgrade sewer and water infrastructure, reconstruct our Belgian block streets and build-out the Archway plaza space. The DUMBO BID liases with DOT, DDC & AECOM design team to ensure this work optimizes the neighborhood potential. Streets on the docket include:
Pearl Street, Water Street, John Street, Jay Street, Pearl Plaza (including Anchorage Place + the Archway), Adams Street, Plymouth Street and Main Street.
